Big Crown label boss and producer El Michels Affair has just dropped a new single 'Stack The Deck (feat. Bobby Oroza)', following on from the invigorating psych-synth qanun chaos of single 'Messy Grass'. 'Stack The Deck' is Oroza and Michels' second collaborative track, the first being 'Reasons' which was released in 2020. The new single sees a lazy beat lag behind tenderly-played piano. The bass wanders around, creating a melody of its own whilst occasional fast-paced guitar plucks cram their way into the empty spaces; the chord changes are satisfying and complex, but never showy. Born to a Bolivian mother and Finnish father, Bobby Oroza's accent is refreshingly indistinct, and his supple vocal style is the perfect marriage for this smooth track, made even cosier with the addition of horns.
